Not exactly. The admin interface is the software screen (Shopify Admin, WooCommerce wp-admin). The back-office refers to all ops activities, including warehouse, ERP, and customer service outside the platform.
Where to edit the site design vs manage orders?
The design is edited in Online Store > Themes (Theme Editor). Orders are managed in Orders. Two separate areas in the Shopify admin.
Can you use Shopify solely from the mobile app?
The Shopify Mobile app covers orders, basic products, and analytics. For mass CSV imports, complex apps, or advanced Settings, the desktop admin remains more comfortable.
